"Horror Show" is released as a 2016 re-issue on black double vinyl (180g/gatefold/incl. poster).
It took some time until 'Iced Earth' recorded their new album. Too many personal problems for main guy Jon Schaffer and two changes in the line-up did not allow them to finish this album any earlier. As expected, it is worth the wait because this concept album about famous figures of the literature (Dracula, Frankenstein, Phantom of the Opera, etc.), movies (The Omen) and genuinely existing nightmares (Jack The Ripper) really hits it off and includes all Iced Earth trademarks. On this "Horror Show", there are not only the typical Iced Earth crackers like "Wolf" or "Jeckyl & Hyde" that are pushed by Schaffers amazing staccato riffs but also epic anthems like "Damien" and "The Opera Ghost". Additionally they are offering melodic power metal icing like "Jack" or "Dragon's Child", which even further underlines the exceptional skill of this band once more. Thus, major changes regarding the sounds were not happening. Just the closing "The Opera Ghost", a guest female vocalist partially takes of the lead vocals. Sounds awesome and is similar incredible like the former Queensryches' "Suite Sister Mary"!
