by Andreas Reissnauer (02/03) Four albums are a good point to release a live album. That's what Machine Head seemd to think, too. "Hellalive" is the first concert document in their career. With 14 songs, the album is well filled, 12 of the tracks were recorded in a show on 8. December 2001 in the London Brixton Academy, 2 songs come from the band's gig on 7. July 2002 on the With Full Force Open Air. The production is superb as could be expected, but still rough enough to bring an authentic live feeling across. The track-list reads like an imaginary best of album of the band, all four albums are covered evenly so that no Machine Head should be disappointed. No matter if you're looking for "From this day", "Davidian", "Ten ton hammer" or "Old", all hits are featured in powerful recordings so that you are well advised to get yourself this album.
