by Matthias Mader (20.04.2009) What can you wite about the Meteors which hasn't already been printed somewhere? Paul Fenech and his boys simply are a Psychobilly legend. Since 25 years, they have been releasing one classy album after another - with no end in sight. "Hell train rollin", their new CD with its promising title, should make all quiffs, Punks, and bikers very happy again. The undisputed kings of Psychobilly deliver another load of hefty stuff such as "Never stop the hate train", "The old man down the road", or "Surfin’ home on a dead girl". The 13 tracks are produced very old-schoolish and down-to-earth, the bass being very prominent. The gentlemen don't drive too fast, though - mid-tempo's the word here. And occasionally, you can guess where Social Distortion & Co. got some of their inspiration from - just check out "Another day on fire"...
