by Jürgen Tschamler (25.03.2008) "Head off" is the seventh studio album of the high energy Rock’n’Rollers and according to the band it is also the last one because the band decided to call it a day after the upcoming tour. Good promotion, a joke or the bitter truth? It should be well known meanwhile that with their last records, the guys have said good-bye to their original style of the "Payin‘ the dues"- and "Supershitty to the Max!" era. "Head off" is the consequent continuation of the predecessor album, "Rock `n´ Roll is dead", just with better songs! That means, the guys still stick to their stylistic mix of 60s and 70s-sound, upgrade that with catchy refrains and simple, but efficient melodies. It is rare that the band escapes this scheme, like in "Throttle bottom", "(I´m) watching you" and "Veronica lake", where they kick down the speed pedal a bit heavier. Absolute highlight is the edgy, slightly Punk-like, "Electrocute" which serves as the cool opener.
