by Markus Eck (13.04.2010) While her friends were falling for the Backstreet Boys, Lizzy Hale has been a Hard Rock fan since her early teens - maybe that's the secret of her authentic and emotional voice. The creative American songstress / guitarist began to write songs for this album back in 1998 already - and she has never stopped since, firmly believing in her future success. Together with her brother, drummer Arejay Hale, she started Halestorm - and the result, now in my CD player, is an enjoyable listening experience. "Halestorm" - that's straight, old-school Hard Rock with an edge - uncompromising and fresh. Lizzy's unique voice adds a certain emotional element to the songs without reducing their street credibility. Thumbs up.
