by Benny Ramm (04.07.2007) The name of Spoiler NYC has been spread in the scene for some time now. Since Alan Robert (Life Of Agony) is the driving force behind Spoiler NYC, this secret was hard to keep. Still it remained a mystery how it would sound. Well, with "Grease fire in hell's kitchen", we now finally hear the debut of Mr. Roberts and his congenial colleagues Junkyard and Clayton. Salvation is guaranteed, yet, not for those who expected a Life Of Agony-clone. Spoiler NYC go different ways. No new ones, but they newly asphalt the often repair-needy Punk path. The band orientates in classic, melodious Punk Rock and brings in a lot of fresh ideas. Which resulted in hymns like "High friends in low places" and the title track with its crazy guitar intro and the Tribal-like percussions, only to turn into a great Punk Rock hitter after a few seconds. Coincidence or not, there are some Social Distortion elements. Predicate: precious!
