by Andreas Reissnauer (26.02.2008) The Red Death is back with the second album, still to be filed under "American musicians prefer to listen to Metal from Sweden". Like many of their country fellows that spread like mushrooms over the last years, also The Red Death are obviously influenced by the big players of Swedish Death. At The Gates, Dissection, the early In Flames and similar bands with lesser known names are the sound models of the Americans. In contrast to many of their country fellows, The Red Death have fewer Core-elements and breakdowns. On the other hand, the level of aggression is far higher – and doesn't leave you much air to breathe. The New Yorkers push the speed pedal down consequently and row up the melodies like pearls on a chain. In terms of production, bruteness and authenticity, they make no compsomises so that fans of the mentioned bands and sounds will be delighted by the Death Metal art of the Red Death.
