This is a compilation of the highlights from the last eight abums - a logic successor to the opus „Somewhere Back In Time“ of 2009 comprising the years 1980 - 1990.

The album contains alltime faves and songs played on the current „The Final Frontier World Tour“, such as „Fear of the dark“, „The wicker man“, „Blood brothers“, and „Dance of death“ but also new classics like „El dorado“, and enticingly suggestive „When the wild wind blows“. Also included: singles - for example „Holy smoke“ and „Be quick or be dead“, as well as more progressive and pensive album tracks like „Afraid to shoot strangers“, and „For the greater good of god“.

    When The Wild Wind Blows

by Thomas Clausen (18.04.2011) The last album by the British NWOBHM legends was glued to the #1 charts position in not less than 28 countries. This combo, the most successful epitome of a Heavy Metal band ever - has always raised the bar one notch higher with each of their releases in their 36 years of band history. On their new Best Of (2 CDs featuring 23 tracks altogether), front man Bruce Dickinson, bassist Steve Harris & Co. take a stroll down memory lane, to the years from 1990 to 2010 which included their most unsettled, and most exciting creative phases between crisis, experimental new identity, and glorious reunion. The result is an enjoyable, to some extent even melancholic, Maiden retrospective not limited to the respective singles of the last two decades, containing, among others, „Bring your daughter to the slaughter“, „Fear of the dark“, „The wicker man“, „For the greater good of god“, „El Dorado“, and „Coming home“. This will get you in the mood for the Iron Maiden shows this summer!
