by Markus Wosgien (20.04.2009) The Heavy Metal flagship White Skull belongs to the veteran Metal acts of Italy, together with Death SS and Skanners. "Forever fight" is their eighth opus, and the first after songstress Elisa de Palma (who brings some fresh air to the sextet) has been recruited. The twelve songs are located between traditional Heavy Metal, progressive sounds à la Symphony X, and the majestic epic stuff by, say, Kamelot. White Skull are well-known for their historical concept albums - this time, they have taken on the barbarians. This leaves enough room for the respective clichés - but this has always been a trademark of the melodic and epic White Skull sound. If you dig Teutonic underground stuff such as Stormwarrior and Wizard, you'll love White Skull anyway - and all others should give the album a try. Tracks like anthemic "Attle and sleda", the speedy title track "Forever fight", or the sing-along thing "Heavy Metal axes": that's music for the Metalhead.
