by Jürgen Tschamler (07.01.2008) With their first album, The Zico Chain deliver a really great album. Not easy to pigeonhole, the Brits appear with a convincing Rock statement. Their mixture of Punk, Rock'n'Roll, Metal and catchy melody lines results in a splendid whole. The guys never sound commercial or lame. That becomes especially clear when you have heard the album for some times. Just take songs, like "All eyes on me", an ear candy that melts Green Day and Foo Fighters elements. Very groovy. The title track, on the other hand, is almost pure Punk. Pure adrenaline! The very fast "Roll over" provided with a killer riff is an ass kick masterpiece that even MotΓΆrhead maniacs would die for immediately. "Preach" sounds a bit more modern but still has a Punk attitude. The songs can convince all the way through and rock fresh and new. That is very entertaining and makes The Zico Chain a true surprise. Recommendable for those who found their home between Towers Of London, Green Day and the Foo Fighters.
