by Ralf Koch (14.11.2007) Why looking in negative spaces if the beauty lies so close – in the songs of Seether, e.g.? Gosh, what a great Rock album! Post-Grunge is the shelf that is likely to be used for the guys – Independent Rock with the wildness of Punk and Hardcore and the melody of U.S. Alternative Rock if you want to go into more detail in case of Seether. With this mixture, they assured all authenticity and still have good chances for some a single hit. Just like "Breakdown" reveals an almost (Nickelback-like) hit character, yet remains a bit rougher, though. A great song! As well as "No Jesus Christ", which is for a radio-single may be a bit too heavy – and with almost seven minutes definitely too long, too! But who knows, Seether have always been good for a surprise. After the CD/DVD-package, "One cold night", and the obviously successfully ended rehab of singer Shaun Morgan, the trio originally coming from South Africa is back on the scene with their third studio album – ready to beat them all!
