by Matthias Mader (05.10.2006) Provocation has always been an important element of Punk since the earliest days. The 26-year-old history of OHL has always been stamped by controversies, too. With their first studio album in three years, Deutscher W, Kalashnikov, Stalin, Egon Krenz and L. Kaida ( so the nicknames of the musicians) are back to make new enemies. Hence the title, "Feindkontakt" counting off with e.g. religious fanatics of any kind ("Der heilige Krieg", "Kreuzritter", "Feind der freien Welt"). With the song "Stolz deutsch zu sein" the German Punk legend offensively opposes political fanatics, too. "Ich bin nicht stolz, deutsch zu sein - Ich bin stolz auf mich allein" (I'm not proud to be German, I'm proud of myself alone). A classic! On (almost) all the eleven songs they hit the speed pedal quite heavily, and the relatively Metal- and guitar-orientated production is state-of-the-art. OHL is and remains one of the last bastions for original German Punk on this side of the domesticated Ärzten and Hosen …
