11.If I Could Love You
by Oliver Kube (25.01.2008) Their third major album, "Famous" is a very solid, yet little surprising album. Because despite a four years-break and line-up changes on guitar and drums, stylistic inventions can not be found by the Post Grunge band from Kansas City, Missouri. Yet, if you don't care about that and rather concentrate on good song writing pairing up with skilled arrangements and devoted performances, this is an album you should check out. Especially because frontman, Wes Scantlin, delivers his best vocal performance ever. That is not only striking in the calmer songs, such as the epic power-ballad, "We don't have to look back now", the atmospheric "Radiate" reminding me a bit of their 2001-hit, "Blurry", and the melodic "It was faith", but also in the edgier tracks. The highlights among them is the grooving "Psycho", the very catchy mid-tempo hymn, "Think about you", and the aggressive "Merry-go-round", reminiscent of Nirvana at their best "Nevermind"-times.
