by Serpent (07.10.2007) Old school, to the blood! Again, Darkthrone don't give a shit about any stylistic borders. With this new album, the two Norwegian character heads celebrate themselves and their qualities as Black Metal-libertines. For "F.O.A.D.", guitarist, Ted Skjellum alias Nocturno Culto and drummer Glyve Nagel alias Fenriz recorded their rockiest songs ever, completely raw, clattering and fiercely produced. Deep, black, hateful and very cool anger Rock'n'Roll completely polluted by delightful, fierce vocal attacks. The effect of the predominantly furious vocal lines by Culto and Fenriz have even been increased by malicious hall effects. The term coolness manically returns in your head when you listen to the nine new compositions. No wonder, the duo pays tribute to a number of their ideals coming from a wide range of Metal.
