by Anne-K. Fricke (08.04.2008) With "Eternal Damnation", another landmark was added to the Metallic map: Cyprus. Thatβs the origin of Winter's Verge, who now released their debut album. And the guys around singer George Charalambous donβt have to fear any international Metal-comparisons. Already the opening title song has great riffs, beautiful melodies and good breaks, some catchy choir vocals in combination with scattered growls and a lot of power, supported by a bombastic keyboard. The following "My winter Sun" is a beautiful, melodic Power track stamped by Charalambous with his Halford-like screams. Clearly faster are "Get me out", "Spring of life" and "A secret once forgotten", in which Winter's Verge set on speed and double bass. "Hold my hand" begins like the typical ballad and more and more gains in intensity. "Eternal damnation" is a great Metal surprise for fans of traditional Power Metal sounds.
