"Engelskrieger" CD by Subway To Sally

Genius may hide sometimes but often you can guess where it is. And when it shows like a blossomed rose your heart is rising. The new album of Subway To Sally is (1) new, (2) new and (3) new! Leave your pipes in the corner, don't turn in the witch circle, this world is ours and we live in it with open eyes.... "Engelskrieger" is a modern rock album that should delight all old fans and win many, many new ones, too. Lyrically, they step on new grounds here and the seed should grow in every one of you! Unfortunately I don't have the space for the new concept. Alone Eric's vocal parts are breathtaking. His voice has always been a trademark of the band for me, not so much the use of Medieval instruments, but now it's the quality stamp on a top-notch product. Everything the band stood for, this joyful love to the smallest detail has more and more been replaced by seriousness. Everything artificial was put aside and the essential centre of it is shining so powerful that "Engelskrieger" is the best German release this year, that's for sure. There is no way to top this if not Subway to Sally themselves. If you wanna take part in life, you have to hear this album. An absolute must! (Alexander Ertner - 02/03)
