by Lisa Hofer (13.04.2006) Nightwish ended their colossal world tour for the highly successful album, “Once” with a great show in Helsinki. At hindsight, the title “End of an era“ has a grotesque aftertaste because after this expensively arranged show, the band sacked singer Tarja Turunen: another page in the book of Nightwish was changed, an era ended. An adequate memory for this magic night that should have lasted a lifetime is the new live dvd, “End of an era“, featuring classics, like “Dark chest of wonders“, “Sleeping sun“, “Phantom of the opera“ and “Wishmaster“ as well as younger hits, like “Nemo” or “Wish I had an angel“. The overwhelming final spectacle for which they also optically pulled out all the stops! Rounded off is the dvd with plenty of pictures of the concert as well as a 55-minute-long documentation filmed over the last two weeks before the last gig with Tarja. A must-have for every metal fan!
