by Marcel Anders (04.10.2006) With their debut in 2004 the quartet had a sensation: the album became a global best seller featuring five hits and bringing the four onto the streets for an 18-months world tour. Which left such deep marks on the English guys that they devoted a complete album to those memories: "Empire". Some kind of musical self therapy that reminds me of Mando Diao's "Ode to ochrasy". Simply because also Kasabian try to put he wild, the crazy, the excessive and the incomprehensible of the Rock'n'Roll-world into words.. And are as incapable of doing so as their Swedish colleagues. At least the trial offers enough material for odd lyrics about roadies, guest lists, long distance flights, sleeplessness, wild parties and fanatic fans. A scenario that the four surround with a unique, musical mixture of 70s Glam Rock, excessive Psychedelia, hypnotic Electronica and acoustic ballads. A visionary jam session!
