CARNAL TOMB, from Germany's equally chaotic and vibrant capital Berlin, deliver their eagerly awaited third album 'Embalmed in Decay,' perfectly channeling the spirit of old school death metal. Shorter tracks, rapid blast beats, and characteristic doom passages create a contemporary version of classic death metal. 'Embalmed in Decay' solidifies the status of the Germans as one of the hottest young acts in this brutal genre. CARNAL TOMB draws inspiration from the works of H.P. Lovecraft, as well as gore and zombie films like Amando de Ossorio's classic 'Tombs of the Blind Dead' from 1972, and specific Italian burial sites called 'Putridairum,' where the corpses of the deceased rotted down to the bones in open chambers. The morbid cover artwork by artist Skaðvaldur is also influenced by these themes. CARNAL TOMB was founded in Berlin in 2014. An insatiable hunger for old school death metal infected all band members. In addition to a remarkable abundance of demo recordings, EPs, split and single releases, it was the two albums 'Rotten Remains' (2016) and 'Abhorrent Veneration' (2019) that earned the band an excellent reputation among death metal fans around the world. With the bloodthirsty death metal horror of 'Embalmed in Decay,' CARNAL TOMB even summon the dead from their graves and unleash their unleashed monster songs on an unsuspecting world.
