17.Storyteller (Laugh-Track)
by Markus Eck (20.04.2009) Today, there are many Metal recordings being re-released, of course, because there are many rarities and specialties begging just for that - but this one has been long awaited and is extremely classy. "Embalmed existence" (first released in 1993) is considered THE US Death Metal album and is a classic in the Death Metal department. They have polished the thing diligently and with care: cult producer Jim Morris mastered the old songs once again and helped them to shine even more, and the band rifled through their archives and added nine bonus tracks to it. Just like Malevolent Creation and Obituary, Resurrection had their very own version of old school Florida Death Metal: unique and versatile. Even today, those many spoken song introductions are very unusal - compared to other Death Metal releases, they are special and outstanding. Scene connoisseurs will want to get this, too, to admire the perfect delivery of drum maven and double bass monster Alex Marquez.
