by Oliver Kube (30.10.2009) Just one year ago, these Finnish Melodic Deathsters (some of them still being teenagers), released their surprisingly mature debut. This second album isn't just a hectic follow-up, but even better than the first one, proven by "Make amends" and "Part of the wounded", two versatile, well-arranged, powerful, yet melancholic and melodious compositions. Then, you get the rough'n'tough stuff with fast and forceful "Scum", followed by "In your name", an epic, almost progressive track consisting of aggressive, heavy parts and melodic interludes including clean vocals. There's also some nice songs clearly influenced by Power Metal ("Your way is not for me", "Dirt track speedball") and Thrash ("Brain attack"). Tracedawn have become an interesting, even important name - also for aficionados of heftier sounds!
