by Florian Drees (29.01.2009) "Echo" isn’t just another album by the five Germans, it is a kind of sequel to "Solang das Herz schlägt", their debut studio success! You could say that the spirit of release #1 reverberates in release #2, like an echo... "Rätsel" and "Mein neues Leben" are legitimate successors of "Und du verblasst" und "Verloren" from "...Herz...". Narziss also stick to their policy regarding cover artwork: dark, depressed, and somehow weird (concerning that Nu Rave look). The sound itself hasn’t changed much: hefty guitars and precise drumming combine with electronic parts und the signature German vocals by Mr. Bartsch, sometimes dirty (um, meaning bellowed, that is), sometimes clean. A wonderful continuation of their work - hats off for so much emotion, patience, musical prowess, and perseverance. This is a must-have for aficionados of great lyrics and sound versatility.
