Already on the first two records, their musical range was something special in Jacob's Dream. And that hasn't changed for "Drama of the ages", either. Their power metal is again enriched by elements of classic heavy metal up to death metal. And despite some melodious beginnings, the album is completely heavy and direct. Songs, like "Third way" or "Keeper of the crown" are really huge power metal songs. Refreshing also is the voice of the new singe, Chaz Bond - not too high but rather a voluminous metal voice that perfectly fits the sound of the band. An album that may not get directly its hooks in you. You've gotta hear twice - but then it begins to unfold its masterly qualities. (Olaf Plotke - April 2005)
