Satan’s Fall aren’t the first band from Helsinki to set out on a victory lap around half the (metal) world. For many years, the Finnish capital at the southern tip of the country has been considered a special melting pot for talented bands and musicians with the stamina to survive even the most challenging times.

Satan’s Fall have already had such a tough time: Shortly after the release of their debut album “Final Day” in December 2020, the global pandemic hit and any tour plans they had went out the window. But the five-piece band centred around singer Miika Kokko, guitarist Tomi Mäenpää and bassist Joni Petander has not lost its idealism – quite the opposite, in fact: after a reshuffle in personnel, with Ville Koskinen joining as new lead guitarist and Arttu Hankosaari stepping into the role of drummer, the Nordic quintet is now more captivating than ever – with “Destination Destruction” being an even stronger successor: A total of eight punchy power metal songs and two cover bonus tracks, performed with speed and virtuosity, brilliantly produced and infused with plenty of strong melodies.
