by Patrick Schmidt (03/07) You may think whatever you like about the PERSON Glen Benton but it's a matter of fact that the controversial Deicide-frontman still is one of the best grunters in the death metal world. That once again becomes clear on the latest, highly anticipated Vital Remains album on which Benton is responsible for the vocals. The two Vital Remains-originals, Dave Suzuki and Tony Lazaro have again recorded an opulent killer album that directly sets forth where the predecessors, "Dawn Of The Apocalypse" and "Forever Underground" left off. The songs again reach epic lengths and convince by many hidden details, great, always melodic guitars and wild drums hits. And with his diabolic vocals, Benton is the black icing on the dark cake. Especially the almost 9-minute title track is a hitter combining speed and brutality with beautiful guitar harmonies in an epic size. All fans of Morbid Angel, Behemoth, Deicide and alike will want to have their copy immediately!
