9.Sometimes (Vinyl Bonus Track)
by Jürgen Tschamler (24.07.2009) Psychopunch are a staple of the Scandinavian Street Rock scene. The quartet is a rare species - no compromises, no experiments, no changes. Still, the band sounds fresher and rougher on this new album than on their last two releases. Sure, "Kamikaze love reducer" and "Moonlight city" are not bad, but you won't find many real, evergreensy smashers on those two albums. All the more on "Death by misadventure"! Even the first song, "All through the night" is a demonstration: the pace - considerably quicker, the vocals: remarkably dirtier. The Swedes have rediscovered their versatility - proven by speedy rockets à la "Wheels of destruction" or "Under the influence". And crispy, fast tracks like "Misunderstood" or "Six lonely days", both garnished with a cocky chorus, are pure fun with a kick-ass bonus. "Death by misadventure" is Psychopunch as usual - but you'll be surprised nevertheless.
