"Days of purgatory" by Iced Earth is published as a 2016 re-release on black triple vinyl/gatefold (180 g/remastered incl. poster).

This album by the Floridian guys pushed fans into a frenzy. They convinced themselves to publish unknown material and songs from the Purgatory period (band name before they changed it to Iced Earth) to the masses. Also, tracks of the first two albums were re-recorded which pushed the pressure of this music even further. Nobody can claim that Iced Earth is doing a sell out here, there is just too much unpublished material and love to the detail of their work. For Die Hard fans, "Days of Purgatory" is inevitable; for people that are just getting started with Iced Earth, it is the ideal entry into their music. With such a disc, one must realize how timeless power metal is. Iced Earth is a role model of this genre, which is once again shown in this historic album. It is more than legitimate to assume that their leaders in their industry. Jon Schaffer and co have worked hard and long to put their genius art into the life of power metal and add some action in this genre.
