On their debut album 'Prodigal Sun', Afflicted skillfully signaled that they cannot be easily labeled. vehemently swimming against the current, the Stockholm-based band dropped everything and completely transformed on their second album 'Dawn of Glory'. Afflicted officially reformed themselves as 'Defenders of True Heavy Metal '. 'Dawn of Glory' corresponded more to the powerful mood of bands like Silver Mountain, Heavy Load, and Axe Witch, catapulting the First Wave of Swedish Heavy Metal (FWOSHM) into the modern era with tracks like 'Raging into Battle', 'Son of Earth', and the exhilarating title track. 'Dawn of Glory' was unavailable for years and now shines a new light thanks to a spectacular remaster in its original state by Patrick W. Engel (Corrosion of Conformity, Destruction) at the Temple of Disharmony Studios. Before Hammerfall, there was Afflicted.
