by Jürgen Tschamler (30.10.2009) Scar Symmetry are back on the scene with their fourth album, although a streak of bad luck had hit them a while ago: singer Christian Älvestam left the band shortly after the release of "Holographic universe". A shock - and not only for the band, the fans also thought it was over for the young combo. But surprise surprise, the boys reacted by hiring two (!) new vocalists, Roberth Karlsson (Edge of Sanity, Facebreaker e.a.), and Lars Palmqvist! So, "Dark matter dimensions" is the work of a sextet, opening new horizons for the band. The transition from deep brutal growls and the respective riffs to clean vocals is really unique. The more you listen to the album, the more you'll detect the progressive parts in the material - still, it's enormously rough. I can't recommend one or the other song - all are epitomes of classy, clever, versatile high-tech, top-notch Death Metal.
