by Patrick Schmidt (04/02) Very interesting! After Sacrilege and Lock Up, also The Crown engaged the ex-At The Gates-shouter, Tomas Lindberg for their vocal parts. And already in the opener, "House of hades" he roars in well known manner until his vocal chords bleed. Musically, the Swedes present themselves surprisingly technical and complex, which results esprecially from the unconventional drumming of Janne Saarenp. From the rocking predecessor, "Deathrace king", not much is left. Songs, like the dragging "World below", the Blast-Beat-thunder "Death metal holocaust" or the cool title track are packed with breaks and surprising tempo changes that doesn't make it always easy for Lindberg to find the right vocal line. You will need some listening session until you get acquainted with this material, which can be seen very positive. "Crowned in terror" is a very unique Death Metal-album that first is very bulky but reveals its qualities very soon.
