12.I'm against it (The Ramones)
by Matthias Mader (null) In the past, the Thrash veterans Overkill already worked with somebody else's compositions (e.g. of Dead Boys or Black Sabbath), now one gets exactly that 12 times on one CD (also, new guitarist Dave Lynsk of Anger By Anger has his baptism of fire)! Therefore, one was quite excited who's gonna be honored by Blitz and Co. or by whom they felt influenced. That way, it becomes exemplary what the Overkill sound contains of. Black Sabbath clearly tops everybody else (three times), then, one finds the Punk songs "No feelings" of the Sex Pistols and "I'm against it" by the Ramones. Next is quite some dose of Metal like Motörhead (Overkill-live-version) and Judas Priest ("Tyrant"). Only "Hymn 43" of Jethro Tull disappointed me, because years ago, Sheer Terror already covered this classic (and in comparision, did a way better job).
