BERZERKER LEGION was founded in 2016 by guitarists Tomas Elofsson (Hypocrisy) and Alwin Zuur (Asphyx) with the vision of creating death metal of the highest quality. They recruited a lineup of solid, well-known musicians, including James Stewart (Vader) on drums, Jonny Pettersson (Wombbath) on vocals, and Fredrik Isaksson (Dark Funeral) on bass, to complete the legion.
Alwin Zuur (guitarist/songwriter) comments: In recent years, Tomas and I have regularly met at shows and festivals. Much of our conversations revolved around music and styles. During these meetings, we discovered that we have many common musical interests... Musically, our debut album 'Obliterate the Weak' showcases the perfect balance between brutality, melody, and harmony. As a fan of the Swedish Gothenburg style of the early 90s, with bands like At The Gates, Eucharist, and A Canorous Quintet, as well as a die-hard fan of brutal old-school death metal.
