by Oliver Kube (22.10.2008) The kings of Progressive start with a skilful improvisation of Richard Strauss’ "Also sprach Zarathustra" - if you attended one of their last shows, you know that. After that, the New Yorkers have prepared a three-hour-long set of their most important tracks, performed very precisely and concentrated. The DVD recording (a compilation of different stations on their last tour) sounds excellent and has been filmed really professionally. Disc #2 is 90 minutes long and offers interviews and "Behind the scenes"-impressions: a rare, really worthwile glimpse behind the scenes of a giant world tour, featuring a group of interesting, intelligent men. There are also four video clips taken from the "Systematic chaos"-album, a photo gallery, a guided tour with bandleader / drummer Mike Portnoy through the backstage area, and the construction of the stage in the Jahrhunderthalle in Frankfurt. The "Special Edition" also contains the complete audio recordings on three CDs on top.
