With their second major-album, the 5 Swedes will delight all fans of handmade riffs: "By the grace of god" combines Hard Rock, Punk feeling, fat Blues and Boogie for an explosive mixture that could bring granny to bang the head. Comparisons are useless, you wouldn¦t know where to start, anyway. At Southern-Rock legends, like Lynyrd Skynyrd, at Punk-icons, like Iggy Pop or at Biker bands, like Rose Tattoo and AC/DC - which however should make clear that all fans of the mentioned bands should check out the Hellacopters! Because "By the grace of god" is one of those rare albums that make fun from the first to the last second, suitable for long highway rides just like for BBQ-nights or campings as well as for fine designer rooms. (Ok, for the living room maybe only after you at least attached one Guns'N'Roses poster....) If they wouldn't be successful since "Supershitty to the max" (1996), they would become at least with "By the grace of god"! (Sonja Angerer - 09/02)
