11.Illdispunk'd
by Björn Thorsten Jaschinski (13.04.2006) How representative can two songs be for a whole album? Listening to what guitarist Jakob says in the interview it becomes clear that “Our Heroin recess“ is far from being the only possible hit single among plenty of old school death metal killer songs. Also the high guest vocals of Mercenary's Mikkel Sandager - a more and more popular session vocalist - can be heard in several tracks. Melodic, groovy and with some slight pop appeal by the synthesizers: after years of permanent progression, Illdisoposed have distanced surprisingly little of the “1-800 Vindication“ recipe. Lyrically, Bo Summer deals with the therapy of drowning love frustration in drug abuse. Faced with this topic, Jakob frightened recalls the horror Ecstasy consume in England. “Illdispunk'd“ is a multi-lingual drinkers hymn that by the Motörhead riffing and the rough, German vocal parts reminds me of the singalong tracks from the Sodom repertoire. Powerful and simple.
