by Benny Ramm (29.09.2007) After the Gluecifer split in 2005 (background for this split was obviously lack of motivation), Captain Poon (Gluecifer, guitar) now presents himself completely recovered: his new band is called Bloodlights, and Mr. Poon not only concentrates on the guitars but also dares the step to the microphone. According to the band info, the work for this album began as early as January 2006, early on board was also ex-Amulet drummer, Jonas Thire. Later on, Ron Elly (bass) and Howie B (guitar) joined, too. Musically, not too much has changed for Captain Poon, he still sticks to the Rock'n'Roll-genre on this self-titled debut without delivering a Gluecifer clone. The twelve songs on "Bloodlight" are predominantly settled in mid-tempo regions, burst for melodies and make clear that Mr. Poon still stands for solid Rock'n'Roll releases. So, let's hope that Bloodlights will be able to at least reach the Gluecifer-status, too.
