"Blooddrunk" CD by Children Of Bodom

by Andreas Reissnauer (04.03.2008) Awaited with anticipation from the fans, now finally stacked in the EMP halls: there is no question that "Blooddrunk" will sell like hotcakes because in comparison to "Are you dead yet?", the Finns massively improved. Which simply results from the fact that the new songs are much more compact. Already the two catchy "Hellhounds on my trail" and the title track, both provided with great melodies, set the direction. Huge riffs, the great solos of Alexi Laiho himself as well as perfect keyboard melodies woven in by Janne Warman – that’s the basis of "Blooddrunk". Speed and groove go hand in hand and despite all individual class of all the protagonists, it’s always the song that stands in the centre of attention. Also a slow, rather melodic song, like "Banned from Heaven", can absolutely convince due to its great melody. Provided with a great production, "Blooddrunk" is an album that will please all fans. I promise!
