by Matthias Mineur (04/03) It is said that in Southern California the sun shines most friendly. This, so the psychologists say, reflects in the zest for life and the humour of people. So it's no wonder that Lagwagon are full of wit and humorous irony. Their '95 album, "Hoss" presented the fat Bonanza cowboy on the front cover, and obviously Lagwagon have it with cowboys and horses, because also the new album is provided with black and white picture of one of these four-legged. Colourfully however is the music of the band. Their predominantly up-tempo fun punk is always melodic and reflects the sunny mood of the guys and could be enjoyed in a convertible with high volume. Lagwagon excuse their trial to delight their fans with their music and attest themselves stupidity. Yet, the truth is: "Blaze" presents clever crafted Punkrock-songs stamped by the sun of California.
