by Matthias Mader (27.06.2007) A "best-of" compilation of the Troopers is extremely dispensable, to be exact. Simply because every album of the living Kreuzberg legend is a best-of in itself. With only 5 releases in 20 years it's not surprising that band leader Atze (whose fellows are only mentioned as guest musicians in the booklet, by the way), is screening the material so long until no fillers are left for a release. The mega hymn still remains "Gewalt", featured twice on "Bestialisch" - in the known studio version as well as in a taster version for the overdue live DVD of the band. All Troopers ignorants should know that these 16 songs are essential to know. Fans of the band have the albums at home, anyway. For "Bestialisch", Atze deserves two awards: one for his lifetime achievement as the best German Streetpunk band and one for the most uninspired cover artwork of the last 10 years.
