If then one looks as awesome as the sexy blonde, Maria Brink from In This Moment, it is no surprise that fans and media alike especially concentrate on the front lady and in their enthusiasm forget the music of the band. Which would definitely be a pity because already on their debut album, the Californians deliver some an outstanding composition that can easily compete with the Alternative/Punk/Metal- and Emocore-stars, My Chemical Romance and Atreyu. Edgy killer sounds, like in "Prayers" and "Daddy's fallen Angel" are regularly interrupted by highly melodic passages that never appear artificial or constructed but are rather woven in very homogenous. And Mrs. Brink? She changes as virtuoso as effective between aggressive growls and passionate, clean refrains that sometimes resemble those of Amy Lee from Evanescence (like in the epic wall of sound ballad, "The legacy of odio"). A hitter!
