by Matthias Mineur (29.09.2006) Angra still remain a reference of how to bring together innovation and tradition. The Brazilians survived the split from their singer Andre Matos more than just loss-free. His successor Edu Falaschi, a man with a great voice and charisma, obviously newly inspired the guys. Already "Rebirth" and "Temple of shadows" in 2001 and 2004 were documents of a great formation neither neglecting new influences nor leaving the path of their own past. And also the new opus "Aurora consurgens" presents some deeply meaningful compositions. Based on the works of the theologian and philosopher Thomas von Aquin, the songs on "Aurora consurgens" deal with the important topics of our time. The band creates a firework of modern Power Metal run through by rhythmic finesse and advancing to the depths of Brazilian culture. Faultless!
