by Sonja Angerer (14.09.2007) "Matured" would be the right term for the fourth Eisheilig-album: While "Elysium" (2006) was still inaccessible and gloomy, the name of the new album is well chosen: On the way into your world. Of course, the quartet around frontman, Dennis Mikus still have a lot of heaviness in their sound. But there is much more than brute guitar walls. The opener, "Wir leben" is still relatively straight and heavy and above all very catchy. Yet, "Dein Stern" already fascinates with a strange, Postrock Moog-intro β an invitation to explore the experiment "Eisheilig 2007". Where this is leading to is clearly shown in "Steh auf!", one of the best songs on the album: below the walls of guitar you have the old 70s-analogue-equipment and the guitars rumble in Space-Rock vein. "Ich halte dich" is almost a ballad β and what a ballad that is: the floating sounds, even stronger in "Gold", remind me of the soundscapes of Sigur Ros and Godspeed You Black Emperor. Appropriately, Dennis' vocals are softer and more varied, the lyrics are easier accessible without appearing flat. Beautiful!
