by Stefan Müller (12.04.2007) The trio started its career in the early 90s as a classic Metal band with some latent Doom influence. Meanwhile, the pendulum clearly points towards toughly, thickly glowing sounds in minor key with which Thunderstorm pleasantly lift from the often very cliche-loaded Power Metal of their country fellows. The riffs of frontman Fabio Bellan are somewhere between the chord structures that Tony Iommi forged in the 70s, the early Candlemass and Cathedral in their faster moments. A very exquisite and balanced mixture that will definitely delight the Doom community. But not only the delicate tempo variations make this album so special, also the cleverly incorporated sound effects and the extraordinary arrangements make "As we die alone" absolutely recommendable. Because one thing is sure: boredom will never be found on this album - despite the clear, stylistic approach.
