by Matthias Mader (20.04.2009) In these times, the quality of a band is often measured in clicks on their MySpace site - a dangerous thing. Facts and fiction are messed up more and more... Fact: the average age of the Of Machines (founded in 2008) musicians is just 19 years. Fact II: now, we could all check for ourselves how good the band is - Victory have just released their new CD "As if everything was held in place". Of Machines present us with high-level Emocore hovering between melancholy and aggression (unsurprisingly so), but luckily no screamo attacks. The songwriting on tracks like "It must belong somewhere" is very harmonious - the band confines itself to not trying to overload the songs. A coherent album, and a coherent production.
