by Björn Thorsten Jaschinski (04.07.2007) Just like their fellows of Heaven Shall Burn - their guitarist, Alexander Dietz, has been seen on stage with Neaera several times - the guys from Muenster feel devoted to the Greek mythology - which already becomes clear in the adaptation of the name. And they also trust the Rape Of Harmonies Studio. Only for the recordings of Benny's vocals who between screaming and raw, and yet, understandable growls puts everything between heaven and hell to rubble and ash. They have an extremely phat Death Metal sound between Bolt Thrower-power ("Spearheading the spawn"), Swedish melody-liking, e.g. in the Amon Amarth-like title track and the Gothenburg-like beginning of "Synergy", as well as modern grooves, greatly recorded in the Hansen-Studio and never appearing too polished. In contrast to many lifeless productions, the rough edges were no eliminated. That helps the mosh case and all prejudices beginning with Metal and ending with Core fall to dust immediately. The tour with Kataklysm and Quo Vadis has done them good!
