by Marcel Anders (10/01) The best friends of Papa Roach on their way to success. Their Michael Jackson-cover "Smooth Criminal" is already well-known and can be seen on all music-video-channels. But the 4 Californians have a lot more to offer than just a well-done cover. Their major debut "Anthology" is a lesson in terms of modern rock music: a vital album in the middle of Metal, Punk and Hardcore. Whereas AAF have the unlimited power of underground heroes like Fugazi, HΓΌsker DΓΌ or Minutemen, added by ultra-fat riffs and charming melodies. An irresistible mix that should appeal Pop and Metal-fans alike. They never go too far to either of the extremes but always stay on the middle of the mentioned road - and consequently should have a similar success as Linkin Park or Korn. Plus with tracks like "Flesh And Bone" a lot of potential hit-singles. What could go wrong with such an album? Viva California!
