by Jürgen Tschamler (29.01.2009) The cult US combo Laaz Rockit celebrated their comeback last year -and they have a lot of festival plans for 2009, meaning it’s about time their back catalogue gets on the market again. ’89, they released "Annihilation principle", a Thrash Metal gem: 9 tracks telling you all about first-class Thrash of that time, including "Fire in the hole" and "Bad blood" which are staples for any Laaz Rockit gig until now. The Dead Kennedy cover "Holiday in Cambodia" is also very stylish, though. This rerelease comes with a bonus DVD containing live footage from their performance at Dynamo Festival 1988 - unfortunately filmed with just 2 cameras and a so-so sound, but the material is a great documentary about Laaz Rockit’s status in the 80s! The versatility and power is intoxicating, and you can’t but wonder about their fame in Holland then and now... Terrific re-release with essential bonus material!
