by Sonja Angerer (10.03.2008) Much more than on "Mit Leib und Seele" (2006), the Medieval Rockers from Munich have returned to the mythical themes: "Anderswelt" bursts for archetypes. In "Krieger", the dragon killer, Siegfried dies by the hand of the warrior, "KΓΆnigin" is devoted to a magician in the black tower. The "Wolfsmensch" runs through the night and through a rocky pipe-thunderstorm, while "Prinzessin" is a beautiful, sparsely instrumented lullaby. "Our music is supposed to lead the listener into other worlds where he can rest fro the hectic everyday life", says violinist, Anna KrΓ€nzlein β and this approach works splendidly with these songs. Yet, there is a timeless song, too: "Die Braut", a song of pipe-player, Birgit Muggenthaler, is devoted to the old and always current drama of a bad relationship that the woman pays with her life. "Fiddlefolkfunk" finally is a happy instrumental in the tradition of Fiddler's Green β perfect to dance and drink. "Anderswelt" is an album with depth that is fun to listen to and that inspires, too.
