14.Mission Erfüllt (Bonusvideo) (Data Track)
by Andy Blair (April 2005) Everything new in Such A Surge? In parts. With Lutz Buch, the Braunschweiger Crossover rockers have a new guitarist who brings in some healthy heaviness into the new song material making Such A Surge anno 2005 heavier than ever. The independent rock of the last album, "Rotlicht" has definitely gone, "Alpha" rocks 12 times. The first single, "Mission erfüllt" proved its hit qualities and is one of the highlight songs on "Alpha". With "Was jetzt?!", "Überfall" or "Zu allem bereit" there are some more killer tracks underpinning their refreshing Rock'n'Roll attitude. Calmer is only the melancholic "Alles was mir fehlt" as well as the seconod single, "Mein Tag", but this is only another strength of Such A Surge. Especially the dynamic vocal duel between Oliver Schneider and Michel Begeame provides goose flesh and this nice tickling under your skin. The HipHop elements are minimal, "Alpha" is an album for the heavier fans base of the Surgers and all who know only since the metalcore hype how great metal can be combined with hardcore. Such A Surge are one of the most important and still one of the loudest German bands! (Andy Blair - April 2005)
