With fresh ambitions they dug into the work for "Energized" so that the new album, as the title suggests, bursts for positive energy. The band around Floor Jansen, one of the best front ladies in the scene, literally invested heartblood in the new songs. The dynamic songs draw as much power from her variable voice as the calm songs do with emotionally inspired passages. The tension is always kept up, so after the intro the constructs build up to huge buildings exploding in the chorus and setting free storms of energy. The collaboration with the Prague Symphonic Orchestra paints impressive soundscapes, and is the topping on the ice of the album produced by Gordon Groothedde. "Energized" makes clear: the facets of After Forever are numerous and unique like the freckles in Floor's face.
